Sync not working

  • I installed opera on my new PC two days ago but my bookmarks have still not synced from my account (I seem to have this problem every time I install Opera on new hardware). Sometimes it takes quite a while to sync, but after two days I would have thought it would work by now. I am logged into my account (and yes I have logged out and in again), but nadda. Any advice?

    That's the first time I've seen that page - I just had a look but I'm not quite sure what I'm looking at. It 'seems' to be indicating an active sync, but I've pasted a screen shot below - are you able to let me know if I have something set incorrectly? Many thanks 🙂

  • Can I ask, what good does it do for all of us seeking to understand and fix our issues, if the only thing posted is "Did you check opera://sync-internals/?" Yes, they checked it and I checked it. But what are we supposed to do with that information? There are no instructions what to look for and then what to do if the information is incorrect. Please someone with Opera post complete information!!!

  • @sgp617 You should try looking at possible error messages and/or anything that may indicate that something is wrong.

  • Sync is still not working. I long ago gave up on getting any kind of help from here as all the mods say is what I have already done. I imported my bookmarks manually, and I'll have to live with that. I'll be honest though, the issue is making me look at alternative browsers, and I am considering going back to Firefox. I do like Opera, but the persistent issues don't seem to be getting resolved during updates.

  • @leocg I do not get any error messages. I do not have ANY information (which is what I keep trying to get) on how to interpret sync-internals so that I CAN be equipped to interpret. Since I have no tech guidelines, no error code chart, etc. Please tell me how I am to proceed?

    You're not syncing, buddy. I have already reviewed the entire configuration on all my devices. I use it on my pc-house, pc-work and smartphone and is not synchronizing the passwords on the smartphone and is not synchronizing the bookmarks between all three devices. The bookmark I record on pc-work is not showing up on pc-house, and vice versa.
    I'm also like the colleague above, analyzing alternative browsers. I already used bookmark synchronization in Chrome which works fine, just not so well syncing passwords. But my main need is the markers. So if I can not make this Opera sync work, I'll have to change my browser.

    Sorry, but I understood that you meant the synchronization of colleague dylanobrien and not yours because your answer was tied to his questioning. If your sync is working well, congratulations to you. Unfortunately for us, it is not.
