Absolutely NO WAY to reset sync password - eventually lose all data due to this UX antipattern

I forgot my REGULAR opera password - so I reset it.
But I also I forgot my sync password (I do remember setting one).
No problem, hit "forgot password" on the sync screen.
Directs me to delete my sync data - ok, a little weird, but maybe it was encrypted with that password.
I'm thinking it will repush the data from another of my opera instances on another machine.
Now go back into sync expecting to be prompted for a new password - nope.
Hit reset sync password AGAIN and now it puts me to the sync data screen in my web account and says "you have no sync data"
Log back into another device where the entire opera account is no longer logging in because I thankfully had also changed my opera main account password.
After reading here, completely NOT going to login my main browser for fear it will sync my now empty data - which it seems has happened to others on this forum.
Yo Opera Devs - you have an utter anti-pattern of usability that cascades into actually deleting all copies of our critical browser data. No one would sign up for sync if it holds the possibility of completely wiping exactly the critical browser data we want to keep safe!

We are talking about sync password or sync passphrase? Sync password is your Opera account password, the same that you use to login here in the forums (unless you have created a different account, while sync passphrase is the one that you create to encrypt your synced data.
To reset the sync password, you go to your account login page and click on 'forgot password' (or something like this). To create a new passphrase, you need to reset your synced data and then go to the sync settings to disable passphrase or add a new one.
