Customize Speed Dial

Now Opera does a good job of automatically drawing appropriate colors and the nice font on the speed dials, but sometimes it gets confusing, especially when different services are in the same domain. Opera will make them pretty much the exact same (other than the subdomain) and it looks weird.
For example, keep.google.com, hangouts.google.com, drive.google.com, inbox.google.com, etc, all look like the Google logo except the sub-domain name because they all are part of google.com.
I'd like a tiny pop-up menu where you can customize accent and background color as well as the text so that my Opera Speed Dial looks clean and tidyOr simply letting users upload jpg/png files of the logo and crop them.

I agree, option to load a pic good,
especially for youtube channels for me..
A thumbnail shot of the site is cool too.FVD on Firefox does a good job on that.
You can also choose a logo from some websites.
Not sure what that is called, not all of the
sites have a logo that shows up, so it defaults to a thumb.FVD handles groups in a way I also like,
when you make a new group
tabs are created within the speed dial window
They also add a "popular", based on the number of times clicked.
That became more useful than I thought it would.

@flamango It's a browser extension for Firefox and Chrome. You can install it from here Speed Dial FVD using this extension Install Chrome Extensions. Make sure you install the Install Chrome Extensions first or you won't be able to install FVD.

The Speed Dial FVD is interesting, but since it's not built-in it doesn't feel snappy and quick. Similar to how Stock Android feels better than LG or Samsung Factory skins, you know?

That is true, especially on the large page saves.
And Nimbus gets flakey sometimes, bugs out,
appears to save and i get a blank.
Or gets whacked and i have to just start over.Issues are Always related to scrolling, which must be tricky because Nimbus and opera are the only ones i have found that do that.
Nimbus also will lock page in place for a
non-scrolled selection,
so the opera ju-jitsu isn't needed. Heh.Nimbus has an "ignore fixed elements" setting
that is helpful.
Opera, the gag is to scroll from the bottom of the selection.
so the top of the page fixed bits dont end up in the middle of the shot.
Opera works, just requires a bit more finesse.I am thankful for them, one of those features like Tabs and speed dial that are now mandatory for me.

Yea I can relate. For me, the correlation between Opera PC and Opera Touch has really hit me. I can also message myself stuff and links between my phone, which I use often for research and browsing.
For me, speed dial is just better bookmarks, for sites I pretty much use 24/7 on my tabs.
Soon when I'm back in school and in need of heavy research for English, the tabs sure will be a life saver. Also an unrelated question: though I've heard Opera is based off of the same framework as Chrome, why do I feel like Opera is faster and it generally uses less memory? (A good thing btw)
I'm also a heavy gamer with a GTX 1060, and while I play Siege and whatnot, my other browsers lag like it's game of freeze tag but opera doesn't seem to slow down. -

- I suggest to add(return back) 'Hide search box' and 'Hide Speed dial' toggle buttons into Speed Dial's Easy setup menu. As I know from the blog now, these options already were in menu until O48 ver.
- Allow using search engine's keyword in Speed dial search box.

@slytheringirl Note that the Chrome version of FVD Speed Dial doesn't work fully in Opera as Opera blocks it from replacing the startpage. But, the Opera version works around it, with the downside being that it's not up to date.

Note that if you add a page to the speed dial via the heart icon in the address field, you'll get multiple options for a thumbnail. Just keep clicking right. One of the options will be a screenshot of the page, which might help in differentiating services on the same domain.

Site "ScreenShot's" are zoomable also (by mouse wheel).

Remove that empty space above News on start page when speed dials is hidden in Settings.

And(sorry for repeating) add 'hide search box' and 'hide speed dials' toggle buttons into Easy setup for quick access. -

What nobody did mention:
When you add the page to bookmarks (This could even be via your favourite button adding to Speed dial page!), you have the option to select a tumbnail picture of your choice!
The available pictures are the ones that are available on the website. It even includes a miniature view of the website.
