This is a great feature which, if added to opera, I'm going to use every day.
Having the ability to send SMS from Opera because it's connected to my phone via messages.google.com is very helpful indeed.

I'm really hoping to see this.

Instead of adding support for Messages, the Opera Team should make it possible for Extensions to use this Sidebar instead.
That way we could get rid of the Extension Sidebar and also support more Messaging Services like Discord, Skype and such.
