For anyone who might be thoroughly familiar with the functionality of the Smart RSS extension:
      https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/smart-rss/?display=en
... I need to confirm something.

Okay, so far it appears like right after I install the extension, BAMM! It works like a champ, just like expected. The Feeds for which I set it, appear just as expected and desired. But, then after that, I'll make new comments on my Blog and a friend's Blog and I'm just not given the heads up by the Smart RSS extension.

I don't know. MAYBE the new Feeds would have shown up eventually given time? If so, how much time? What would be the typical wait time frame from when say ... a new comment is made on a Blog to when its Feed should appear on that Smart RSS extension?

I found out this morning that if I click on that circular Arrow (Reload / Refresh) icon on the left Sidebar, the Feeds WILL be updated. But, I'm wondering whether that Smart RSS extension SHOULD by all accounts eventually automatically update the Feeds or whether we have to always manually update them?

[Mod note: moved to Opera add-ons]

As I think I vaguely recall, in the brief time that I used the built-in RSS Feed Reader and MyOpera Mail setup for Feeds in my MyOpera days ... the Feeds WOULD get automatically updated. There was no need for manually updating them. But, I guess my memory could be wrong. LOL It's that I only used it briefly before MyOpera shutdown. So, the functionality of that setup is not thoroughly ingrained in my brain.

By default it checks for new feeds every 3 hours but it can change depending on the server.

Yes, the default time is 3 hours unless the RSS specifies different time. You can also change this time manually by clicking on a feed with right mouse button, selecting properties and changing "Update" time.
