    • Description: If screenshot selection is out of screen - it not captures and renders as transparent.
That was different on Opera 52.

    Steps to reproduce

    1. Press Ctrl+Shift+5 or go to Menu → Snapshot
    2. Select area for screenshot. Area must be larger than size of screen.
    3. Press Capture
    4. Copy/Save image

Opera 53.0.2907.68 on Windows 7 32-bit, installed as 'Stand-alone installation (USB)', Language = English (United States):

If a region for a screenshot is larger than my computer's screen, so that I have to scroll for selecting that region, then Opera generates a truncated screenshot on my computer. Since my screen resolution is only 1024x600 (netbook), this happens nearly every time I am trying to take a full page screenshot.

I think that screenshot bug was also meant by 4channer here.

BTW, Firefox 60.x has an option to save a full page screenshot without any manually dragging/resizing which is very handy. Would be nice if Opera could support that feature too.

  • This affects me and I just reverted to Opera 52 just to verify that this indeed was a regression with Opera 53. Please fix!

  • 53.0.2907.99
    Still appears

  • The bug also affects me. I'm running Opera version 53.0.2907.99 on ArchLinux, so it doesn't seem to be limited to Opera on Windows

  • Fixed in 54.0.2907.106:
DNA-70189 Snapshot captures only currently visible area when scrolling

    Theme can be closed now.
