Extensions & Smart RSS Backup?

I just installed the Smart RSS extension this morning. I already have it set up to give me my BlogSpot Blog's Comments Notifications.
NOW ... the questions are --- Which files would be the ones to back up:
(1) To back up what all extensions I have installed?
(2) To back up what all RSS Feed Sources I have set up the Smart RSS extension to send me notifications for?
I see the Folders:
Extension Rules ... Extension State ... Extensions ... Local Extension Settings
I see the Files:
Extension Cookies ... Extension Cookies-journal

"Extensions" is the main folder. What you have looks right to me (there's also "Sync Extension settings" to add), though others in the forum, if they know, need to confirm. I always worry I'm missing something, so just to be on the safe side, I save the whole profile to a flash drive. You know, kill a fly with a sledgehammer That way I have the bookmarks and preferences also, as well as inevitably what might be important that I miss.

Hmmm??? I just finished figuring out that apparently the Extension Rules folder is only present when Opera is up and running. Cuz when I first attempted to back up the Opera Stable folder, I got an error and was informed that I couldn't back it up because it was being used. So, I closed Opera. I was then able to copy the Opera Stable folder. But, upon doing a double check of things, I realized there appeared to be a folder missing from how many I knew existed before.
After an experiment of 2 rounds of checking the Opera Stable folder with Opera up and running vs. with it closed ... I did reproduce the bit about the Extension Rules folder only being present when Opera is up and running.

Hmmmm. You could copy it when Opera is up and running. I just do not know if that is a critical folder. It seems like you are mostly concerned about the RSS. Normally, when I copy a profile, I clean the browser of private data (so that the profile doesn't take up tons of space in my flash drive). Then I close the browser and copy the profile into a flash drive.

You're correct, Lem. Ultimately I'm more concerned about being able to back up the RSS Feed Sources from which I'll want notifications.
I only have 2 extensions so far. The Smart RSS and the RSS Detector extensions. I really don't plan on having remotely many more than that if anymore at all. So, when it comes down to it, I can easily manually reinstall those 2 extensions.
The RSS Feed Sources on the other hand ... if I eventually have Blogs from several people from which I want notifications, I don't want to have to recreate those RSS Feed Sources manually after an Opera reinstall.
I have plenty of space in my Flash Drive, but nevertheless, I think sometime between now and the end of the weekend I'll follow your suggestion and clear the Private Data and the Cache and save that version of the Opera Stable folder. Much more lean & mean.

In the options for the Smart RSS extension, there's an option to export in the "SMART" format that exports a list of all your feed subscriptions AND their already-fetched articles. That way, if you ever have to start over for Smart RSS or set it up on another computer, you can just import the file and you're good to go.
If you don't need old messages, you can just export in the standard opml format to just export your subscription list.
To back up the extension's app files, you'd back up its folder in the "extensions" folder in the Opera roaming profile folder. Look at manifest.json with a text editor in each folder to figure out which one is the extension you want.
If the extension makes use of Local Storage, you'd also back up the 2 files in the "Local Storage" folder in the roaming profile folder for that extension. The files will have the extension folder's name in it. If the extension uses IndexDB, you'll need to back up the files for that extension that are in the IndexDB folder. You can find them by the extension folder's name too.
"Extension State" and "Extension Rules" are still present after closing Opera for me. I guess you'd have to back them up too, but not sure.
There's "Extension Cookies" and "Extension-Journal files that I assume you have to back up too.
There's a "Local Extensions Settings" folder that you probably have to back up (at least for extensions that you want to back up and have stuff in there).
Then, there's the "Sync Extension Settings" folder that you'll need to back up (or at least the folders in it for the extensions that use it that you want to back up).
I don't know if any other files for extensions are required. Those look like they're it. For example, I don't see a file that specifies the list of extension. I assume Opera just scans the "extensions" folder to get the list.

I'm gonna find out later today when I perform a Private Data Clearing, a Cache Clearing and in general a thorough cleaning with CCleaner, Glary Utilities and JetClean to start things off from scratch. Once I stick back in some Extensions folders, I'll be able to tell whether I didn't put back in enough. I'll have the entire Opera Stable folder handily backed up in case I need to reach in there and get more folders or files to stick back in.

I only have 2 extensions so far. The Smart RSS and the RSS Detector extensions.Have you seen the Distill Web Monitor extension.
https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/distill-web-monitor/?display=en
It can monitor RSS feeds, a webpage or a part of webpage. And provide alerts in the form of pop-up, audio or emails. I'm not sure if it adds anything to what you need, but thought I'd pass it along.
