Long first launch time

This started, no longer than, a couple of weeks ago. Start Linux Mint 18 > start Opera > 20+ seconds to load. Disabled add ons, never used turbo, starts to start page, everything but passwords cleared when closed. Reinstalled. Can't think of anything else.
doug@doug-Lenovo-Z50-70 ~/Desktop $ opera --debug
[4844:4871:0405/054110.247776:ERROR:browser_gpu_channel_host_factory.cc(120)] Failed to launch GPU process. -

Hi, try this:
Reboot computer, open terminal, lunch opera with --ignore-gpu-blacklist.

worked. where is the off switch for the gpu-blacklist and how does it get started in the first place?

I assume you have to set this
opera://flags/#ignore-gpu-blacklist
to "enabled".

Happy for you !
Like Jim wrote, start opera and type opera://flags in address bar.
In search box type gpu, and select enable for ignore-gpu-blacklist.P.s. Listed as : Override software rendering list

@loup001 , @jimunderscorep
thanks. I see the default setting is disabled. I expected to see that I'd somehow messed things up tinkering. Strange that everything ran smooth for months and then one day, whammo, the slow start up begins. Wonder how many people simply stop using Opera because of this. Or of it's considered a bug yet.

@leocg - everything is set to clear on close, except passwords and bookmarks. Where would those be found to make sure? I'll look for them now
