Hi all,
Problem with animated wallpaper is getting worse.
I just upgraded to 54.0.2929 from version 53.0.2880 ( last working version with animated wallpaper ).
When starting opera-dev, i get a grey page with notice of system crash.
When clicking on settings, i get same crash page.Tried from a fresh profile :
When starting, i get normal wallpaper ( no crash page )
If i try to download a new animated wallpaper, i get the crash page as soon as the animation normally start ( before install option is displayed, at the point were i can see the animation to decide if i want to install it ) -

On 125% text size (120dpi) all extension popups (both chrome and opera addons) are awfyully blurry. Opera internal bookmark popup is blurry either, adblock one is normal. UI fonts and webpages look normal. W10, O 54.0.2929.
Extensions page is blank (I know, I know - I have installed some extensions from chrome store).
Opera's about page doesn't show 'check for updates' - at least this is known.
Overall - one of worst dev releases over last years

New update - Opera developer 54.0.2936.0
;-)
The change log, and the announcement.
"Today’s update for Opera developer comes packed with three features, including News on Speed Dial, Instant Search, and Flow. News on Speed Dial is an expansion of our personal news reader, while the rest of two were part of our big R2 release, broadcasted live on April 25. Take a look below to learn more:
News on Speed DialCatch up on the latest news, and headlines directly from your Speed Dial. News on Speed Dial provides the most popular news articles from the web according to the languages and regions of your choosing. Scrolling down below your Speed Dial folders will open 50 news dials for you to peruse. Click on an article dial to open it in a new tab.
Multiple categories can be selected, to filter the content you wish to appear on your Speed Dial, as seen in the screenshot above. Select “All” to receive news from every topic, from news to sports, travel, business, culture and more. You can choose multiple languages, and regions in the settings button, found in the cogwheel icon on the far-right side of the categories bar.
We introduced the personalized newsreader in August 2016 (Opera 39). This is available in your sidebar, and allows you to handpick RSS web sources and languages, or to also read a region’s Top 50 news articles.
Instant Search and FlowSpeaking of news, we had some major headlines of our own from our live launch event R2. We unveiled two new features: Instant Search and Flow for our surprise Opera stable update, which is now active in today’s developer update.
Instant Search expedites the way you conduct searches on the web. By pressing Alt + Space on your keyboard, a new search box will pull up over your current page, and your new search will load in a floating window over the page. Now you can search for something on the web, without leaving or losing your current page.
Flow is the feature, where you can send and store web content you wish to keep for later reference in an end-to-end encrypted space. Flow is also available on our new mobile browser - Opera Touch, allowing you to share web pages between your computer and phone with ease, and resume your desktop browsing on mobile, and vice versa.
For all the details on our major announcements, please check out our press releases here, or rewatch the R2 live launch event.
To read more about these features, please check out our last post."

@l33t4opera The instant search text is very hard to see if a dark theme is being used:
OS: Xubuntu 18.04 Bionic Beaver
Desktop Environment: Xfce4

Hi @furret29, hopefully it can be fixed in one of the further builds.
Most probably, if you file a report using Opera's bug report wizard, it might speed up things a bit. -

New update - Opera developer 54.0.2949.0
;-)
The change log, and the announcement.
"We’re coming back to business after the long weekend (at least for us in Poland). Please find a new Opera developer release to help with a good start to your week.
Update & Recovery section in the O menuOur goal is to make browser updates more visible, and friendly for users. We also want to make resetting your Opera browser easier.
Every time a new version of Opera is available, you’ll be informed about it with a red dot (as it was before) visible on the O icon. In addition, there will be an “Update & Recovery” option visible in the O menu* (or from the Opera in the menu bar for Mac users). This will open a page, where you can check for an update yourself.
Resetting your browser can help it to perform better. If you press Recover… button under Recovery, you’ll be able to select between two options:
- Keep your data and reset the rest of setting. This will revert your search engine to its default, remove pinned tabs and rest browser settings. It will also disable all extensions and clear temporary data, like cookies. Your bookmarks, history and saved passwords will not be cleared.
- Reset all your data and Opera settings. This will revert your search engine to its default, remove pinned tabs and reset browser settings. It will also disable all extensions and clear temporary data, like cookies.
When an update is ready, you’ll see the Update now button of the Recovery page. Pressing the Update now button, will refresh the browser with a new version.
* Linux users: please note: the Update & Recovery option is placed in the Edit section on the menu bar. This is a bug, and it will be fixed. Expect to find it soon in its proper place (as it is for Windows). We’re continuing our work on Instant Search, and Flow. There are a lot of changes in settings page too. We also fixed a bug causing white flashes on the start page."
The Chromium is updated to version 67.0.3393.4.
