Opera 52: Flash will not work on BBC News

@vincej1657 It's still not working after the steps you've taken?
I got the same 'download Flash' message popping up for that video, but I might expect that given that it will be the first time I've tried to watch via BBC.com in Opera. The video plays without issue thereafter.

This happened to me too when I started to use Opera. I did like you and downloaded flash again, restarted, and then when the video (a different one) appeared, I clicked it to enable flash and a dropdown menu appeared just beneath the browser/search bar. I allowed/enabled it and it was fine. It would not play without clicking that dropdown bar to allow it.
If you've already clicked the dropdown bar, sorry I don't know then.

@sarapsc95 No, I have tried several times, and it will not play, giving the same message. BUT it plays without trouble in Chrome.

@leocg No - I installed Adobe Flash. That is what was suggested in the error message.

Works fine for me in Opera with
http://www.bbc.com:80
as an exception. Works fine without any exception if Flash is set to "Allow sites to run Flash" in settings instead of the default of "Ask first". -

@leocg Ok, I assumed that if Opera is telling me to use Adobe flash, then that is what I should use. So, which flash should I use? secondly, how do I remove adobe flash from opera?

@vincej1657 Adobe Flash is the only Flash but there are different versions of it and the one that works in a browser may not work in others. So there is a version for IE/Edge, one for Firefox, another one for Chromium based browsers like Opera and so on.
Try download in Flash from this page and then install it.
Opera uses the Flash installed on your system, as long as it is the correct version, so there is nothing to be removed from Opera.

@leocg That was the flash version I downloaded the first time. BUT, nevertheless, I downloaded it and installed it again, and again it does not work.
However - when I right click on the error notice I see "Error 8005". Any ideas what that means? Should I install PPAPI Flash?
I can confirm however that this video runs fine inside Chrome and Edge.
Thanks.

@leocg Where do I look inside the windows control panel? I don't see it anywhere.
