So today I noticed that Google Maps 3D maps stopped working.
.. I know that virtualization station on my QNAP also does not work.

IMHO Opera should really ID itself as Chrome since it uses the chrome engine (also I know that both of the mentioned sites work when I use an extension to change my browsers user agent).

I really think it sux when websites do browser checks rather than feature checks ... but that is another matter, and regardless having a feature to change the user agent would overcome these bad programming checks.

      Kris

There are at least 2 extensions that can fake the user-agent. Both are called User-agent Switcher.

@concretable, built-in would be more interesting.

A simple "mask as chrome" option that you could do on a per-site basis would be something nice to have built in.

The problem of such solutions is that they don't fix the real problem, which is pages doing browser sniffing, and also may cause issues.

Browsers should start using some generic user agent string.

I just tried Google Maps and found that I am able to use 3D without faking my user-agent with Opera. Is that unique to Mac Opera?
