52.0.2850.0 does not work on OS X - causes visual corruption - resizing windows and switching between windows kind of helps. Reverting to 2845 cleans up issue. Based on two separate Macs I would say 52.0.2850.0 is broken pretty badly on OS X

@mickrussom Yes, have the same issue. Posted this in the comments section on the blog for the release:

”Having serious issues with the UI and UI painting i never seen before. Pixel edges (until you resize the window), new windows display parts of the underlying window content and more. This build is unusable, atleast on this system. Tried the standard things. Starting fresh (deleting profiles, uninstalling completely using AppDelete and a custom shell script, disabling the few extensions installed etc…

I know there was a related issue in Chromium: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=794819 (while this don't look like this).

        • 1). Photos of the issues (screenshots don't display any issues): https://imgur.com/a/DyciS
        • 2). opera gpu output: https://gist.github.com/christopheranderton/4b8c39d2df78e6a36d155548811ce190
*Note: It says Canvas: Software only, hardware acceleration unavailable, while other Chromium based apps says (including Opera Stable and Opera Beta): Canvas: Hardware accelerated. Enabling: Override software rendering list does show Canvas: Hardware accelerated, but don't fix the issues.

EDIT: Chrome Canary 66.0.3334.0 (Official Build) canary (64-bit) has now also: Disabled Features: accelerated_2d_canvas, gpu_rasterization pointing to Issue 794819 (Chromium Bug Tracker).

        Developer Build 52.0.2850.0. Mac OS X 10.11.6 64-bit, iMac Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014, 32 GB Ram, AMD Radeon R9 M290X 2048 MB ”

Confirmed that reverting to 2845 will ”solve” the issues.
Here is the Opera GPU report for this build (all flags set to default): https://gist.github.com/christopheranderton/a4caa741ef5a06155e895f71ff1bed62
