ftp link access in Opera?

Links such as ftp://ftp.ams.org/ams/doc/amscls/amsthdoc.pdf cannot be accessed from Opera but other web browsers. What is Opera's opinion of ftp links / ftp support?

Let me see ... ftp://ftp.opera.com/pub/opera/desktop works fine here in Windows.

In this particular case, I think it has to do with how pdfs are embedded in a document for handling.

This one ftp://ftp.swfwmd.state.fl.us/pub/outgoing/012715.pdf seems to work though (username
anonymous). Not sure if that's because that one is password-protected and or it's because viewing ftp://ftp.swfwmd.state.fl.us/pub/outgoing/ (the directory the pdf is in) isn't disabled like it is with ftp://ftp.ams.org/ams/doc/amscls/.
