Show/Hide Speed Dial

I have lots of lovely wallpaper images but I can't see them when the Speed Dial icons are displayed. So, I go into Settings and check "Hide Speed Dial". Now I can see my image, but I no longer have access to my Speed Dial icons.
Am I missing something?
I would like that when I click on the Speed Dial icon in the Sidebar, or the address bar, that the Speed Dial icons would be displayed on my current Tab.
Makes sense?

You disabled Speed Dial, that's why you don't have access to it.
