Animated GIF not playing Opera 49

I cannot play animated GIF's on Fbook since updating to Opera 49 - they worked previously and work on Firefox and Edge. Please advise how to get them working on Opera 49 with windows 10.. They appear as static photos when the play tab is clicked Thanks

@assybish oww, that is bad!!! i have a hobby of collecting these, and if Opera stops their animation, i can't function with that. that reminds me of other older browsers i tried out,and rejected em for that reason.:

Look at Site Settings Sidebar extension and allow needed options, maybe fixes the problem.

Maybe is treated as flash, so enable plugins, npapi...

Check the FB settings also, in case that something changed.

Is this with actual animated gif files, or are you talking about gifv files?
