want to access location bar in presentation mode

I'm using Opera Next 21.0.1432.48 in Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks).
Safari seems a pretty good browser, but I find myself using Opera Next a good bit because I like being able to go into presentation mode and hide both menus and tabs. Especially on my Macbook Air, with its relatively small screen, this helps me see more content, less UI. Safari doesn't have presentation mode: just full screen mode (where menus are hidden but tabs are still visible).
Anyway, the problem in Opera Next is that, in presentation mode, I can't type Cmd-L (or push pointer up to top of screen) and get the location bar, to type or copy a URL. I want to do that quite frequently, and to do it, I either have to switch out of presentation mode temporarily (shift-cmd-F in Mac OS or go to speed dial, type the url in the search field, do the find, then click the link there. Both of which seem crazy to me.
Which sends me back to Safari.
Chrome does it exactly right. The problem there is, for some reason, I just don't much like Chrome.
Hope you'll consider this suggestion. Lot of nice things about Opera Next and I like Opera Coast on my iPad (and now iPhone)!
