Only one word: YES.
My proposals for changes in Opera (Google Document).

For privacy reasons I want to make "startpage.com" my primary search engine (which uses google.com, but anonymize the search requests)

There is an alternative but it's a bit annoying. Do you know the keyword for every search engine? Type it at the beginning of every one of your searches (after typing the keyword press space) and done!. PS: I am using Ecosia too because of the Amazon Rainforest Fire.

I agree - we need to be able to set Ecosia.org as default search engine, otherwise we'll use another browser! Gotta plant trees when I search!

Yep. I was wondering why opera won't let me add a default custom search engine. Now I know. Vey lame, tbh.
Now, as a workaround, add a keyword to the search engine and just start with it before writing in the address bar. Works almost as the real thing!

If not all of the above, at least give as the option to rearrange the "other search engines" in the order we want them and have that same order show on the context menu.
I like to have mine in a particular order and every time I add a new one, I have to delete all the others and start rearranging them from the start, in order for them to show how I want them in the context menu.
The other problem is, in the setting's menu it rearranges the added ones but alphabetical order and in the context menu, it shows them in the order you added them. So this is disorientating. It should be in the order you've decided for them to show both settings menu and context menu.

@home-world You can add a search engine in the "other search engines" section, but, you cannot set the added search engine as default because when you click on the 3 vertical dots the only option is "remove" - there's no option to set the added search engine s default. That only works in the top section!!!!!
