Changing Google Search Default Country

Hi
I am running the Elementary linux distribution and the latest version of Opera for Linux.
I first installed Opera when I was over in Thailand and therefore it picked up google.co.th as the default google search engine. I do however spend 90% of my time in Australia and would prefer English results, either google.com or google.com.au.
Where would I find the appropriate file to change on the linux system?
There does not seem to be a way of changing this through settings. It only allows you to select from the various major search engines.
Regards

Read the FAQ. I edited the local state file, tried to save it, but it never saves. Must be permissions issue with Linux.
