To Always Start Opera USB in Private Mode

  • As the title suggests, and for those who don't know. Opera USB (Portable) doesn't leave a taskbar icon when not open for obvious reasons. I always like to start Opera in private mode. Here's how to do it assuming you've already downloaded Portable onto USB and plugged it in!

    • On taskbar, open "File Explorer" and click the "Opera" folder under the relevant USB drive.

    • Right click "O Launcher" and click "Create Shortcut" (this places the shortcut on USB and not desktop).

    • Right click "launcher shortcut" and click "Properties".

    • Modify the "Target" line to leave ONE space after exe and type "-private" (without quotes).

    • Click Apply, then OK, and close the window.

    • Opera USB will then always start in "Private Browsing" mode when you click the "launcher shortcut" in file explorer.

Hope this assists my fellow Opera fans.
