Email address invalid

When creating a new Opera account, I keep getting an "Email address invalid" error when using my email address. It is a valid email address as I regularly receive and send emails from it. I verified the spelling of the email address.
No matter which email address I use from my domain it shows as invalid however if I enter my g-mail or aol account, that does work. My email address is on a domain hosted by Name.com, not sure if that makes a difference.

My domain is a .net domain. Does Opera recognize the .net domain when checking the validity of an email address?
