With advice from others here, I installed Opera stable onto my work computer as a "USB installation." All is well. But I do have 2 questions:

      1. Noticing that the USB installation put several folders/files onto my desktop, I deleted them all, then re-installed onto a newly created folder, called "Opera." I noticed that there is now, on my desktop, an additional folder called "OperaPortable." Can I delete this second folder, or does it have to stay in the location O was installed?

      2. Anticipating a few months down the road, when I'm no longer on this computer.... can I simply copy my Opera folder to a new computer? Or would I have to reinstall it, and start from scratch?

        1. Have you used the official Opera installer for that?

        2. You can simply copy it. Obs: the passwords may stay tied to your user account so when you open it in another computer the saved passwords won't appear there.

Yes, I used the official Opera installer. I created a new folder on the desktop, and then pointed the official opera installer to put all the files in that one folder.

          1. OK, I can live with the password issue. I don't go to that many different sites on my work computer. 😞

You know, Paul, when I'm at work I simply go to the LP site, log in and open my LP vault. I then have access to all my bookmarked sites along with their passwords. It's a simple matter to copy and paste whatever pw I need by opening another tab and navigating to that site. You might want to consider the LP extension.

I am using it now for my home laptop, but at work I typically only go to a few sites, and I've already manually entered them, so I'll be ok with what I have. But at home, I'm saving everything to both Opera's native pw manager and LastPass, at some point I'll probably make a choice and pick one, disabling the other. But LP is so convenient to use, that I very well might just use this, which will always mean that I can switch browsers with ease.

Given what I've just read here (https://forums.opera.com/topic/2108/how-do-you-backup-your-saved-users-passwords/3), it doesn't make sense to store passwords in the O pw manager, as moving to a new user account or a new browser won't allow you to transfer them.

Man I'm just used to browers that offered to import stuff from other browsers. I'm doing fine on O20 right now, but I'm still surprised at this. Anyways, its LP for me from here on out. It works very smoothly.

When you have an issue different than the one being discussed in a topic, search for another one that covers your question or create a new one. When you post on somebody's thread that's what we call "hijacking" it.

Type opera:plugins in the address bar and press Enter, then check if Flash is there and enabled. If it's present more than 01 time disable the other stances leaving only the "Adobe Flash Player" (e.g. the newest one right now is v. 13). If it's not use Opera to re-download and install Flash from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer
