Flash issues and SSL certificates issues in opera 44.0 for xubuntu.

  • I just installed opera browser 44.0 in xubuntu to test it, then I got a couple of issues, first: I dont't no how to enable flash player, in the settings I select automatic play flash in web pages BUT it is not working, now there is no a page that shows plugins in opera (opera://plugins does not work anymore), I have firefox and the flash plugin (libflashplayer.so) is working flawless. I don't know where to place libflashplayer.so in opera - I don't have such a folder in /usr/lib/opera/plugins (in my case is /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opera) there is no plugins folder. I placed libflashplayer.so in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opera folder BUT didn't work. How to get working flash in this case? (there is no option to choose a path for plugins in opera-settings)

Second issue is "https" pages won't display due a SSL certificates, it display that the algorithm used like SHA-1 is old, how to fix this? I can't open google webpage, some pages complain of old certificates, how to fix this? Do I have to download the certificates? Some webpages display with no format, rendering wrong. For now it is enough, anyone can help me with these issues? Thanks vladimir

  • Do you have Flash installed? It is not included automatically, you have to enable the non-free repository and install it. No, the specific plugin used by Firefox is not compatible with Chromium-based browsers like Opera.

  • I installed pepperflashplayer-nonfree and now it seems to work. BUT I have another issue that some sites don't load properly images ( not displaying images, it shows a broken icon ). What to do??? And the issue of SSL security certificates for some sites like google.com , youtube.com , i can't load theses sites.
Really I'm getting bothered with opera browser 44, I regret have installed this browser.thanks

  • Look, I really love Opera, I prefer it to Firefox, Google Chrome or else. But,

¿WHY CANT'T YOU MAKE THE DARN FLASH PEPPER PLAYER TO WORK JUST AS GOOGLE CHROME DOES UNDER LINUX?

I have tried a heap of solutions available in Internet and then darn thing DOES NOT WORK.I cant see CNN or ABCNews videos. ¿Why cant you load the pepper player jus as Google Chrome does and have it working?

I have complained about this in all sorts of ways whith no results, a few weeks ago it did work OK but failed aganin after an Opera upgrade.

    PLLLEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSS fix it!
