Since my Opera was updated a few days ago I see a weird behavior:
I have Opera already running and give on the commandline:
opera <anyfile>
and get[0202/182531:ERROR:object_proxy.cc(583)] Failed to call method: org.freedesktop.UPower.GetDisplayDevice: object_path= /org/freedesktop/UPower: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod: Method "GetDisplayDevice" with signature "" on interface "org.freedesktop.UPower" doesn't exist
Version/System:
Version: 42.0.2393.351 - Opera is up to date
Update stream: Stable
System: Ubuntu precise (12.04.5 LTS) (x86; GNOME)The file to be opened is then displayed o.k. in the browser.
Any ideas?

So your old version of Ubuntu doesn't support that. It's not unusual to see messages like that when you open Opera from a terminal as not all versions of Linux support the same features. As long as Opera actually works as expected you can pretty much ignore messages in the terminal.
