With some regularity, the facebook page fails, sometimes generating an error asking me to reload the page, other times causing the entire App to quit and need to be relaunched. Anyone else experiencing this? It seems to happen when the facebook load is quite large (i.e. you've scrolled down a lot).

        Clarifying this with more/better info:

When facebook fails with an error, the error is: "Page crashed - Unfortunately, something caused this page to quite. It might have been an extensions conflict or some other reason." with a button that says "Reload This Page"

...and I have not done any extensions troubleshooting, so yes, it is possible that it could be an extensions conflict.

The other scenario I mentioned isn't that the entire app literally quits in the traditional Apple sense, in that I do not get the Finder box that tells me something has quit (asking me whether I want to send a report), which I assume still normally happens under Sierra (which I recently updated to.) Instead what happens is that every Opera window disappears, and then re-opens and re-loads. The only message is one that appears at the top of the windows, saying that something was in the middle of downloading, and asking me if I'd like to continue the download. The other odd thing there is I was not in the middle of downloading anything, and since this dialog provides no file name or window URL or further info of any sort, I don't know what that's about.

Contrary to what I said earlier, it does not seem related to how much scrolling down I've done in facebook, it can happen while still on the opening screen's worth of the site. One thing that may be related, though, is that I think it may only happen when I have lots of other windows and/or tabs loaded. But it is always facebook in front when this happens. I do have a facebook extension installed, called FB Purity, I suppose that could be relevant as well.

Further clarification... Even though I don't get the expected standard dialog telling me an app has quit and asking me whether to send a report, relaunch, etc. (perhaps a behavior that changed under Sierra?), the app is fully quitting and relaunching when this happens, because I see that Opera disappears and then reappears bouncing in the dock. I've also now had it happen when the frontmost window was something other than facebook, though facebook was running in another window. So I'm not sure where facebook comes into this. I did have a lot of tabs open in general.

also, the Quit+Relaunch seems to often happen immediately after copying something to the clipboard

Can you be more specific about 'something'? Text from Facebook, a picture, a video clip?

Opera does its own crash handling, and crash reports are sent directly to Opera (not to Apple). It also restarts after crashing and tries to load the pages that were there when it crashed, so that you can continue working as soon as possible.

I have since realized that this particular behavior (related to the copying to the clipboard) is not facebook related. I will start a new topic on this.
