No sites respond

Once in a while, for no apparent reason, I have a recurring problem in Opera. No sites will respond in Opera, but a little circle keeps spinning in the tab. (It will keep spinning for hours if I let it.) Those same sites will respond in any other browser I try; only in Opera they don't work.

The only way I have found to correct the problem is to uninstall Opera, remembering to delete my user data with it, and then reinstall it.

It's good to know there's a way to correct the problem, but it would be even better if I knew how to prevent it from occurring in the first place. What is causing it?

Uninstalling seems a bit much. Is there any change if you switch to private mode by any chance? Sometimes I also experience some (small) delays when accessing certain websites, but so far my assumption is that DNS delays could also be a part of this.

By the way: an easier way to 'reset' is to simply remove your user data/browsing data. Check your settings, the Privacy section in particular.
