Passwords import from Chrome
I have a Mac Book for work on which I imported my bookmarks and other setting including passwords. During the setup, it was actually one of the options to select.
Now that I am attempting to do the same on my Mac Mini at home, I cannot seem to find any option to bring over my passwords from Chrome. I can only choose Bookmarks and a couple of others, but nothing about passwords. If I have to manually move those over one-by-one into Opera then I would just give up and stick with Chrome. I really like the Opera browser with it's new features, but this totally sucks!
Does anyone know what the hell is going on here?
Update: User error, apparently. The import on my Mac at work was from Firefox, not Chrome. Oddly, only Firefox has the option to import passwords into Opera.
It's because of the storage used: Chrome, like Opera and Safari, uses macOS's Keychain to save passwords. It's a really great system facility and offers nice security. Unfortunately it also means Opera can't read Safari or Chrome's passwords
