      This sucks.

Whoever was the guy who first thought of the idea to remove them from browsers ought to be shackled and flogged.

What's the point of that button? Can't you simply press Enter or use "Paste and Go" (Ctrl+Shift+V)?

I know that some people would be able to use a computer without a mouse, but without a keyboard? 😛 Uh, click the Enter in the virtual keyboard? lol

In Opera 12 and newer (15 .. 20) no Go button existed.

Press Enter key instead with the mouseon your virtual keyboard or Return on your hardware keyboard.

Pressing enter requires too many hand movements.

IMO, there's no point to a lot of web browser functionality, but I don't go on other people's threads saying that function should not be available to those who actually use it. Why would I even want to do that?

This is weird to me because I find typing an address then getting my hand out of the keyboard just so I drag the mouse to hit a button far in the top right of the screen a lot more annoying/movement. Why not use Enter, or Paste and go, or F8 Ctrl+V + type + Enter?

It's a way to ask why the user is requesting X. Sometimes the justification doesn't make sense.
I don't want the devs to lose their time implementing a completely useless function (code, design, new bugs, QA tests) and only to add bloat in the end. Me, and not being egoistic, other users too are waiting for more important things.

You never type URL by hand and hit enter? Oh. Strange.

Some people like navigating with the mouse for a while.
I'm often on my laptop. It sits on a table and - as usual with laptops - the keyboard is attached to the monitor. This makes it compact, but occasionally can result in an unergonomic position. My mouse has a long cable and I can get myself in a comfortable position (i.e. further away from the monitor). Naturally, I can't really use the keyboard from there. And I don't have to. Whenever I do that I am browsing websites like YouTube, where most of my navigation is done with the mouse.

Opera 20 misses a mouse/rocker gesture for ENTER. That's true.

Opera 20 lacks of many features well known and loved in Opera 12.

Found by right clicking on a tool bar and selecting 'Customise / Appearance...', then navigate to 'Buttons (tab) / Browser view' and dragging the '> Go' button onto the tool bar containing the address bar and clicking the 'Appearance' windows 'Ok' button to confirm the the changes.

That trick does not work with the Windows version of Opera. I think the Linux version still uses the old engine as opposed to webkit. I think...

How do I get a go button in the address bar?
I have version 20, if that makes any difference.

Isn't there some totally fabulous extension for this? https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/go-button-toolbar/koinaeomacgddcepgblmbelbejidpmbn
