Going into settings causes a crash, often a BSOD

I have no actual idea when this first started, since I don't spend much time in my settings.
Every time I try and load into the settings menu, it crashes the browser, requiring me to open a new window and try to quickly prevent it from attempting to load the settings menu at all. More recently, it's begun to cause BSOD and it's 100% isolated to those same actions.
Not totally sure what to do at this point.

A BSOD, in modern versions of Windows, is almost always caused by a driver problem or damaged system files. Open an administrative command prompt and run 'SFC /scannow' and see what that finds. You might also post the version of Windows and Opera you are using.

Like lando242 said, problem has to be in hardware, some driver (including antivirus drivers) or damaged system files. Userland program (like Opera) cannot trigger BSOD by itself.
What exact data is recorded in system event log about BSOD? Error code and optionally driver name may hint to the culprit.
