Opera Mini 19 battery drain

Is it just me or is there a battery drain issue in version 19... the power use is significantly more than it usually is.

And more data traffic. I blame that idiotic newsfeed feature first and then maybe some more nefarious background activities.

We're sorry to hear you're having battery issues. This may be happening depending on what features you use on Opera. If you have multiple tabs open (10+) try closing them. And if you're syncing with a desktop and have tons of data syncing, that may also be the cause.
Are you sure it's Opera? You can verify this by going to the battery section on your Android or iOS device.

@operaolaf Not more than a few tabs open, I don't have sync enabled, literally the same features as in the older version but the power use is tons more than before. Yeah its definitely Opera Mini I can see from battery usage stats in settings it uses 83% power in 1hr 50 mins.

try killing the news forcefeed, avoid facebook.Settings>Advanced>Start page content "Speed Dial only"

@cubot Thanks but Actually I have done that since the first time it was introduced, I never enable that News feed feature.
