Yes please, please integrate tab stacking feature again. I'm a old user of Opera, i began to use it for its uniqueness and cutting edge originality, and because it was from our beautiful neighbor Norway hehe... i think it was -98 or something like that, and further on when the browser was trail ware! So please hear me out, get back to the roots and implement that made you famous, uniqueness and originality!

@mickeopera: Are you also from Sweden?
BTW, nowadays the desktop browser is mainly developed in Poland, so they are the ones you should butter up now

Tab Stacking is an amazing feature please implement it in the new Opera. Vivaldi doesn't do it very well, not like Opera 12 did it - Smooth, clean and thumbnail previews. The reason I still have Opera 12 installed is because of tab stacking and Right Mouse button gestures. Hope to see these soon in the new Opera. Thanks.

Undo closed tab is working... "Ctrl + Shift + T" or button next to minimalize - there are last closed tabs

Opera people! Another long time user here... still using v 12.16(how can I upgrade to v 12.17?) saying once again for all long time users... It needs to come back! It is not novel, cuter or whatever you think it was to have Opera without this feature! Among other good things that made v 10 - 12 the best internet had!

either you agree to lack some new features and technologies, go back in time and use the M05T P0WERFUL, THE G0D OF 4LL BR0W5ER5, THE M45TERPiECE, HI5 H0LY GRE4TNE55... OPERA 12.17 ...M4Y iT BE BLE55ED 4ND RE5T iN PE4CE
or try the still-in-work technical preview release of Vivaldi https://vivaldi.com

The problem with Vivaldi is that I don't like their implementation of tab stacking at all.

76 replies, 8 thousand views, not a single Opera response.
The same discussion on Chrome - second answer is from Google - "thanks, we're thinking about it".
Nuff said. -

This is an users' forum, you should not expect any answers from Opera here although it may happen ocasionally.

Nuff said. This kind of answer may lead users to think that the feature will be imolemented, when it may not be true.

I think they will "add" this feature when it will be implemented in Chrome, since nowadays Opera is just a fork of Google Chrome. My opinion: with a new engine it will take too many efforts for developers, therefore it will not be implemented in Opera independently. It also explains the silence from the developer's side - they do not want to "lose face".

I am still using tab utilies add-on with Firefox ver 28 with tab stacking just because I must have tab stacking like when I used to use Opera. I love opera's focus for always focusing on speed and off the shelf usefulness. Please bring this tab stacking feature back. I suspect the the switch from presto to webkit engine is preventing this. Any thoughts?

Vertical representation of tabs is far superior to horisontal one.
You can view far more tabs in a vertical list and still have the ability to see tab names, which isn't possible with a lot of tabs on a tab bar.
Now, several extensions already grant the ability to view tabs vertically.
For Opera specifically: Tab Sidebar
For Chrome and Opera: Tabs Outliner
Both of these have tab stacking already.
Duplicating this functionality for outdated method of representing tabs horisontally on a tab bar is just a waste of time.
