With VPN on Google goes to UAE

Went to do a Google search and suddenly everything was in Arabic. The Google login page was in Arabic, and the main Google search page was Google United Arab Emirates. I switched off VPN and was I back in US Google. Don't know if this is reproducible, but I'll try to test it again later.

Google again thought I was signing in from Dubai, though the VPN virtual location is supposed to be the US. I'm not in Dubai BTW.

It's a Google thing: when several requests from one IP seem to be from the same country (as happens when, for example, quite some people from Dubai are using Opera's VPN) it has some smart heuristic to reroute that IP to the country-specific site. Opera is in contact with Google to solve this issue.
