Flash update - alternative

Hi, I have been a firefox user for long. I use firefox on Fedora Linux. I wanted to try opera as it was rated more efficient and faster. It really is but when I tried flash sites it asked me to update my flash and does not give me a choice of updating later as firefox does. I tried the various methods of updating it as well ( as indicated in the help pages ) and it still does not work.
If you want users to migrate to Opera - freedom of choice is something that is necessary.
Hope you will implement this.
