Logging in to Sync should be enough.

      Does https://sync.opera.com/web/ show anything?

So it shows that you have no synced data?

And what about opera://sync-internals? Does it shows any error message?

I am such a dummy... Thank you for that last link! I bookmarked it and saw the screen change so I checked and sure enough it was now on my pone, too! I guess it is only the speed dials that are not updating... is there a way to chnage that?

Thank you so much for your help leocg!!! 🙂

Have you checked Bookmarks > Other Speed Dials?

leocg... I don't see where bookmarks leads to that option...? I looked in settings, too... I suppose it is not critical that I be able to do that as long as the regular bookmarks are updating... but, thank you so much for your help!!! 🙂

On desktop, go to menu > Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks. On the left you will see a tree structure where you will find "Other Speed Dials".

I think Opera's help and related information should indicate this "other bookmarks" area, or, even better, when the user sets up sync, the user is offered a choice of (a) this new machine will match the other exactly, in bookmarks, speed dials, or whatever you choose; or (b) we'll take the other machine's information and place in a separate area. Something along these lines.

After I set up sync on a new environment, I leaned back and waited for my speed dials to magically change from the default to the speed dials set up on another computer and when it didn't happen, I figured something was broken.

Now, to move SDs from the "other" area in the main. . . .
