Cannot Close Tab

Hello.

When multiple tabs are open, I am able to 'X' out of each tab except the first one. When X is clicked, it displays the 'Speed Dial' page and the only way to close it is to 'X' out of the browser.

Is this a glitch or do the settings need to be changed?
