Opera account says my email address is already in use with another account

When I sign into my Opera account I am notified that my birthdate is missing and that my email address is invalid. When I enter my email address I am notified that it is in use with another account. How do I rectify this?

@Leocg, thanks for the suggestion but I quite like my email address & don't want to use another one.
I suggest Opera fix the underlying issue.
