  • I found that Opera's current feature (version 32 on Windows 10) of omitting the query string in a URL until the user clicks in the address bar a little confusing. Some sites do not update the URL to reflect the current page, so not showing the query string makes this issue difficult to spot. Users have to click in the address bar just to make sure.

Instead of hiding the query string (everything after a question mark), why not syntax-colour the URL? Making the domain prominent would be good, and you could show the query string, but in a light colour.

  • There is a setting to allow full URL to be displayed.
