      Hi I have a question,

when Opera lets say you have it set to remember 50,000 addresses... Yes... I am guilty... Just incase I want to remember something from 6 months ago I forgot I had looked at. But what happens when it hits 50k? Does it dump the old? if so I kinda dont like that... I dont want it to dump my history. I clear the cookies but not the pages ive been to I like to look back for a certain site I may of looked at 6 months ago.

Thats a NO NO.. I dont like it cleaning things for me.. I want to be the one in control of cleanup.

Reason I ask is for some reason it just dumped all of my history from Feb now I only have today's history back to like 3/7/14 when I had history back to 2/28/14

      Thanks,
      Christopher

It will dump the ones you haven't visited most recently, and not all at once. But if an improper shutdown occurs, who knows how much you can lose ... Presto was kind of fragile in that regard. (I haven't seen a setting for remembered sites in Opera/Blink, so I presume you must be talking about Presto.)

Yeah, I hadn't glanced back to see which forum I was in. I use both Windows and Linux.

Opera/Blink uses an actual database which is somewhat more resilient, Presto just kept data in flat files. If you logged out or crashed while Presto was writing one of its files, you could lose the whole thing. Mind you, it was nice to be able to read most files in a text editor - can't do that now.
