Search Function is Dramatically Inadequate

I recently asked a question (in the wrong forum) regarding the Time Stamping for our posts which appears "off". My post was transferred to the proper forum (Forum Feedback) with the unhelpful response that "there's already one or two topics about it..."
Okay. Now here's the rub. I would not have asked this question "IF" the forum search function was accurate and therefore useful. I challenge you to do a Search for Time/Forum Time Stamp (or whatever) and ignore the first two hits which will be my post and the "helpful" response. You'll discover that it is nigh to impossible to find these one or two topics regarding the issue which as I mentioned, demonstrates the relatively useless nature of the Forum Search.
Input would be appreciated.

Ironically that's also a subject that has been already reported here.

So, Raphael, the two links you provided both date back to 2014 and it appears that no adequate solution has been forthcoming. When you say that "no solution was implemented UNTIL NOW" are you suggesting that they now have a solution and if so what is it? Or are you saying that no solution exists even now?

I wonder exactly the same.
Btw, happy birthday @rafaelluik!

I believe the term "until now" is equivalent to "yet". Since these are user-to-user forums, few of us have any official insight into what Opera may or may not be doing in the background about any particular issue. This is especially true of the Opera forums, which have their own set of known issues (one of which is how little direct remedial control over formatting, layout, functionality, and similar issues Opera appears to have).

I visited another site recently - one of a Russian media company.
In terms of searching it's a mess: I hammerred there for some half an hour, then found what I needed with Google in a few minutes' time.
Well, the thing is I perfectly knew what I was searching for - let alone I knew it exists. Which is not the case here - when you need to search IN CASE something is there... Somewhere -

"Until now" is just that, hehe. I don't know anyhing about their plans to improve or not the forums.
Thanks for the wishes. :3

To build on what @joshl has noted, when I want to search for a topic in these forums, I use StartPage or Google first. (In the case of 'time stamps', using a search term there like: time stamp opera forum.) It's not perfect, but it provides more comprehensive results than the built-in forum "search" function here, especially if one is willing to sift down through the many results. While I wish the Opera forum search worked better as well, I can't fix that. The Googling technique will work on just about any forum name and is worth remembering.
