the error still exists in my version of opera which is 36.1.2126.102083
it might be caused by firewall while it doesn't work even boosting VPN

i feel so depressed for opera may be the only browser that can sync bookmarks and history between my PC and my android phone easily
hope opera can fix it quickly

Today I downloaded latest stable version and can't log in my account! I work in China and I thought it might have something to do with China firewall, so I used VPN and still same error! How to do next, Opera?

Same issue on all opera android browser - Opera for android, opera for android beta and both stable and mini browser.

Can go to opera.com and login. also working fine on other android phones.

As above posters I use opera as it allows sync between pc and phone. If that's not working there is little benefit but doesn't seem like they are trying to fix this any more as replies have stopped.

I'm switching to Firefox until this crap can be sorted. Firefox now has all the functions I require of Opera,just hope my phone has enough system resource to run it OK or I'm in trouble.either that or I'll give Chrome spy-ware ago, mind you correct me if I'm wrong Android is Google, so its spies on every app anyways.

The same thing goes for me - sync do not work for Opera, Opera Beta nor Opera Mini. I am using Asus Zenfone ZE500KL with Android 6.0.1.

Same problem with Opera mini. I've just installed it on SGS5 v.18.0.2254.106542. Password field shows normal text (no ***)
Normal Opera seems OK (logged in long ago and still sync)

I now have the same problem since downloading opera mini. Same on both my Sony Xperia phone (mm) and lenovo tablet (kitkat). Can't sign in on either.
