With last nights update, this is now working as expected.
@minotus Then it's probably either a Chromium issue or an Acrobat one.
@heinrichii For reasons I don't understand, this works:
GDK_SCALE=2 opera (wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/HiDPI#Xfce)
My display is not HiDPI.

Try installing the ms fonts first sudo apt-get install ttf-mscorefonts-installer
I just looked at that section and the list of font names is already sorted alphabetically. Perhaps you can provide a screen shot of what your system is showing. I am using the Opera GX LVL1 (core: 64.0.3417.150).
