When I respond to emails, they are automatically shown in very small font (html) mode. How can I increase the font size? I have tried all the settings, and still no effect.

        There are directions here,
        http://help.opera.com/Windows/12.10/en/fonts.html,
for changing the font size in Opera mail.

After you hit reply, the compose tab opens up and the body is focused, hit ctrl + home. Then, hit backspace a few times. Then, hit enter a few times. Then, hit ctrl + home again and start typing. Does it work then?

Why not just install the button to switch to plain text

All the instructions you have posted are for Opera web browser. I have a separate application called Opera Mail version 1.0 build 1044. Thanks.

What I posted applies to the standalone Opera Mail application also. If you're replying in HTML mode, the insertion point for what you type will inherit the styles of the original message you're replying to. Doing that little trick should set the insertion point outside/above those styles so that Opera can honor what fonts you set.
