Java plugin soon to be unsupported?

Hi,
I've just noticed a toolbar appear when using my VPN link, about the Java plugin being un supported soon. Does anyone have any official word from Opera on this? I couldn't find anything that gives any more details.
We had to switch from Chrome just recently after they blocked NPAPI, and now it seems Opera might be going down the same route. Any info anyone has would be much appreciated as this could have big implications for our business!

Just got the "Java version soon to be unsuppported, upgrade to latest version" message, so I followed the instructions, un-installed Java completely and installed Java v8u60. I then went to the "Verify Java version" page and got this message:
"The Chrome browser does not support NPAPI plug-ins and therefore will not run all Java content. Switch to a different browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer or Safari on Mac) to run the Java plug-in. More info"
When I click the More Info link I get this page: http://www.java.com/en/download/faq/chrome.xml
Just to be on the safe side, I installed both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Java, but I get the same result.
Does this mean that Oracle doesn't support NPAPI (whatever that is)? If so, what are the implications? I switched to Opera from Firefox because FF had got sloooow and seemed buggy, and Opera has been great, but now it looks like I'll have to go back to FF.
Any answers, Opera people?

Opera is based on Chromium, which has decided to stop supporting NPAPI plug-ins. For now it still works (in Opera 32), but it might stop working in Opera 33 or 34. Thanks for this, where can I find any indication of the release schedule of Opera? Need to try and gage how much time I have before this will stop working.

So , it´s possible to disable the uptade from opera ? because here we have the same problem with java we can´t live whitout it kkk

So, its time for someone (Opera devs) to make an add-on that will re-enable the NPAPI plugin. I tried Firefox yesterday but Opera is so easy to use that I gave up in 30 minutes and uninstalled Firefox. Please, devs, don't make me intall it again. Oh! God, the horror. Me using Firefox, what's next? Cats hunting dogs? In what world we live in?

NPAPI plugins in browsers are almost dead already.
@pgper, you know Firefox has promised to drop NPAPI plugins by the end of 2016:

Also, Oracle has set a date when they will ditch the support for Java in browsers.
