moving from Opera 12.14 on Windows XP to new mac (Yosemite)

Very soon I will be firing up a new Macbook Pro with Yosemite. For the last 20 years I've been in the Windows world, and for over half of that I've been using Opera. I've been using Opera 12.14 because I have accumulated quite a library of bookmarks and notes and couldn't part with them to use the newer Opera format. Besides, if it is an Chrome clone, I'd just as rather use Chrome, which I really do not like. And the Notes, especially, is what has kept me in the older Opera. That having been said, I will be making the switch to Mac. What can I expect from Opera for Mac?
What is the newest version?
What can I do about the extensive Notes I've accumulated over the years? is there some sort of extension that will allow me to access them?
Thank you for any insight you can give me. -

There's an excellent Notes extension here, with basically pretty much all the functionality of Opera 12's notes: https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/v7-notes/?display=en
But I don't think it's able to import existing notes.

What is the newest version? The latest is 33.0. Below is the information I got from my Opera.
Version information
Version: 33.0.1990.58 - Opera is up to date
Update stream: Stable
System: Mac OS X 10.10.5 64-bit
Have fun with your new Mac. It takes some time to be comfortable with a new system.
