I use Linux and at the moment I am dual booting PCLinuxOS and Manjaro Linux. I have no issues with Opera on PCLinuxOS, however I have a big problem with Opera and Manjaro Linux. I open it and it stops cold. I did not believe it when I was told that , now, Opera is based on chromium. Why??
Chromium freezes on me when it is on Manjaro Linux as does google-chrome, on Manjaro Linux. I like Opera, it is my second favorite browser. I have posted on the Manjaro Forum about the problem. I'd like to know if there is a workaround or could I get Linux 12.16 for a 64 bit?Leopard-948

You can download Opera 12.16 from here: ftp://ftp.opera.com/pub/opera/linux/1216/.
But it's outdated so I can't recommend to use it as your primary browser.

I had the same problem with Opera freezing up all the time with Ubuntu 14.04.
Here's the thread that solved it for me.
\https://forums.opera.com/topic/11177/opera-31-0-1889-99-keeps-locking-up-and-becomes-totally-unresponsive/8Changed the nouveau driver and all is well. The only difference is Opera is not as speedy as it used to be but it doesn't lock up anymore.
