Hi,
is it possible to watch youtube videos with Opera for Android with 720p? The quality is even with "HQ" worse than with youtube App.
Thanks!

Yes, if you tap the HQ icon in the bottom-left corner of the youtube video, before playing it, then you will be served higher quality content. I checked some vevo music videos and was served the same quality. But when checking the HD trailer for The martian i noted a difference. However, if chosing the desktop version of youtube I got same quality as the youtube app.
However, this is how youtube has made their mobile site and not something Opera can influence. Its the same if you open youtube in Chrome, lower quality compared to the app, same as Opera. I guess the reason is that google/youtube wants to promote the app or something of the kind. -

For me it's the opposite. I can't get higher than 360p in the YouTube app, but in Opera I think I get 720p. lol

Spoke too soon... What was just fine a couple days ago now looks 480p~360p-ish even with the HQ symbol enabled.

what I would like to see is a return to what happened around jellybean time. once flash support was officially dropped clicking a youtube link would open up the youtube app to play it. at the time I hated it, but now I would like to return to that setup by any means as youtube playback thru the browser has gone backwards again. 80% of links play in washes of bright green and pink only and are entirely unwatchable if you want to follow visual details of any kind.
opera is still my only browser, I'm old skool and I'm not going to switch over this or lose sleep waiting for it to be fixed, but any help would be appreciated.
