Might be nice to offer a 64 bit Opera version.

Is there an improvement ? Seems there was a 64 bit version years ago.

      ~ Thank U ~

There is a 64 bit version of Presto Opera, and the Mac and Linux versions of the new Opera are 64 bit only, and have been for quite a while.
Sadly at the moment the new Opera in Windows is 32 bit only, as you say.
There is a bit of a debate about how useful 64 bit is in this instance. Yes it would be able to access more memory, and may be a bit more stable, but there don't seem to be many other huge advantages.

Stability is not effected by being 32 or 64 bits. Its mainly a memory thing. This deal is though, the new Opera wouldn't really benefit from it much now anyway. Because the new renderer allows each tab, extension and plug-in to use its own process it already has access to what is functionally unlimited memory (up to whatever your system max is of course). Unless you have a single process using 3.5+ gigabyes of RAM you will probably never run into the 32 bit limit.

            Indeed so.
BTW they have just now finally released a 32 bit version for some flavours of Linux!
            🙂
