I downloaded maxthon recently and I found it amazing, it has many extra features and is much more customizable than Opera, but the available extensions do not convince me. It is better that Maxthon Opera ?, Why?

@sebaemanuelgo @colderwinters I went to 2 webpage but I did not see anything about Turbo mode so, do you know if your browsers have Turbo mode? turbo mode shows pics. jpg like WebP format. I use turbo to see posts by internet ignorant users that post lots of heavy pic of 3Mb in the same post

@jazei, I think you'll find that among desktop browsers, only Opera and Yandex browsers have Turbo Mode (which actually uses a proxy server to compress data from websites before it's routed to the user).

It uses webkit and is based on Chromium if you're using Linux. I "think" it uses the Trident rendering engine for Windows OS but I'm not sure. I think it has limited add-ons and those are third party. Plus if you do a little digging you'll discover a lot of complaints about it crashing frequently and causing many pages to hang. if you don't like Opera, try Firefox.

I use Opera for some time, but from version 15 lost many features, so I try to find a browser that looks like Opera 12

You should use Firefox. I don't like anything from China, so I wouldn't use Maxthon.

Firefox extensions allow you to set up the browser to approximate your older Opera settings. And like Sidney, I'd be very careful about using a browser from China.

Since Opera went down the Chrome route, I've been using Maxthon. I've found it to be a little faster than Firefox, and with very few crashes. Maxthon does have a lot of skins, but not many extensions - for that, Firefox is unbeatable, and much better than either Opera or Chrome.
Opera 26 has I think, still got quite a long way to go before I can use it as my main browser.
If you are looking for a browser that's like Opera 12 you might like Otter - http://otter-browser.org/
