I understand completely what you're saying. Unfortunately there's no way to keep it open, but as a workaround you can use the F3 key to bring it back after you load the next page, this will search for the previously entered term instead of blank field requiring you to type it again.

Thanks rafaelluik
seems that old Opera 12 still win
what I don't understand is the reason for which the developers penalize the new version of the program if compared with
the old version
??????

I don't understand why people think that a program that shares zero code with another program would assume that everything would be the same between them.

Lack of development resources and how they determine the priorities, yes and nos, of the development definitely takes part on this.

Not exactly, people think that a newer version of a program (it doesen't matter if it is based on a completely different code) will represent an improvement on the old program
I don't consider an improvement to have some functions enanced and other be missing or badly implemented

It took them 18 years to build the old Opera into the program that Opera 12 was. You aren't going to see them start from scratch and have it working better than the old one did in all areas in less than 2. Quit being unreasonable.

That's very true and also the many people complaining think the reason Opera is nowhere near the same in 2 years is down to sheer laziness/incompetence/a team who doesn't care etc. etc.

Well, then they should have named it something else altogether.

Something tells me a name change wouldn't have stopped the outrage, except it would be 'you abandoned the best browser!' instead of 'you ruined the best browser!'.
