Opera 26 - Open vs. save a file?

Back in older versions of Opera, when we clicked on a file (i.e., a *.docx file), we had the option to Open or Save the file. Now in Opera 26, when we click on a file, we're taken straight to the "Save As" dialog, with no option to open the file directly. Is there a way not to default to saving a file, and to have the option to open it directly? Or is this another thing that we're not (yet?) able to do in version 26? There are plenty of documents one may need to open briefly but not save anywhere on the computer (other than, I assume, the autosaving in temporary downloads). It's an extra and necessary step...
Thanks for any information that you have!

Actually that's something that you're not able to fix anymore in 26. I wrote an extension that could open downloads, but the API was crippled... I'm still waiting for this to get fixed again...
In any case, here's my extension (it can still do some other cool stuff like preventing you from closing Opera while downloads are in progress. So it's worth checking out) and that needs to be done first to make it work again... So cast your vote for it :wait: -

Thanks for the information! I'm glad to understand the current status. I cast a vote for the fix, though it certainly doesn't sound like it's high priority, unfortunately.
