Opera Link is not working

Any word on this yet? As a returning user form years ago, I'm curious as to the progress on this "reworking" of Sync. Seems odd to be promoting it all over and have it completely unusable.

I'll tell ya, I would use Opera as my primary browser if sync was available. And I know quite a few who feel the same way. I hope it's available soon.

Well, Opera Link is there again in Developer release Opera 26, so here's hoping it will soon be in the iOS app as well. I haven't used Opera in about 10 years but am amazed how much faster it is than other browsers right now, looking forward to this feature working.

Opera 26 beta has an option to import Firefox bookmarks and data. The passwords didn't work for me, but all else did.

Opera Software is a for-profit company that generated $216m in revenue in 2012, so how is it possible that their desktop browser receives so little attention? It's possibly the only modern browser with no (working) sync functionality.

It's also the only one that's just about one year old.

I use Opera Mini for Android. Had a difficult update to the program today, but even though that appears to finally be settled, Opera Link will not complete its usual task. I can log into and connect, then syncing appears to start, but it just spins and spins, and eventually freezes the app.

Lack of sync feature is very frustrating. After using Opera for a long time, I deinstalled it 6 months ago as I got fedup with waiting for a version where Opera link worked. I installed Firefox instead. Recently I read a great review of v26 on CNET, so I decided to give it a try again. Well that was a waste of time, Opera Link still does not work. I have a sneaking feeling it never will. It is a real shame as my first choice would be Opera for all the other reasons. However, lack of sync is not acceptable.

Opera link works if you download the current version of Opera Developer.
But the catch is that ctrl-f for searching within a page still crashes Opera Developer!Come-on guys - we are still between choosing which of two extremely basic/essential features we have to go without !!!

Actually you don't have to choose that. You can enable sync in Opera (stable) by enabling the sync flag:
opera://flags/#synch
And you can fix the find problem in the developer version too:
http://ruario.ghost.io/2014/12/19/workaround-opera-developer-28-find-in-page-crash/
What you have to choose now, is which browser you want to use; developer or stable

I was about to post almost this exact comment, but i'll leave it at ditto...
I dislike most of my browser options since opera started going awol and then out of date. I dislike having to read and figure out whats going on with my browser, what versions I can or can't use, what will or won't work, etc.
I just like to install a good fast browser with features I like, and then update it with the confidence that whatever it did before it will still do only better, faster, or more in a more stable way. My favorite feature, besides speed, was using the link feature and being able to share its information from my desktops (windows/linux) to my phone (android). Whoever decided to turn on and off link service during "reworking/re-visioning" should just be expelled from the company.
I haven't been back to the site in 6+ months and was really wishing/hoping to find something to the effect of "dang, we are really sorry we did that, but here's a new version that does xy&z better and proves that we really had a good reason for doing it."
Sadly this doesn't appear to be the case. I've sort of written off opera, if I someday stumble across an article saying it's all-that-and-more, I may look into it again. Until then, thanks for the first few years of great service and super-fast browsing.
good luck

Whenever I click Synchronise I get a error message saying 'Access To Opera Link Has Been Denied'.
I haven't visited here for so long; it's unbelievable what they've done to the browser and whoever made that decision needs their head seeing to.
Why can't I actually import my bookmarks from Opera Link to my browser so I don't have to keep trying, and failing to open Synchronise to access my bookmarks and speed dial.

It's now 26 April and I installed V28 last week. Been checking it out since. Syncing bookmarks now seems to work well (at least with Opera mini on my iPhone). Thanks Opera - you may well have the best browser now.
However, a small issue now remains - how to backup bookmarks. I cannot find a backup option on any drop down menu. Are we to assume that Opera link is now considered the preferred backup - or did I miss something? -

Same question as rob, how do I get my bookmarks out of the operalink website?
I have had to reinstall my opera browsers due to changes in hardware and I can't get to my bookmarks stored locally.
